About Me
Welcome, I’m Amanda Skwarok, a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), working under the supervision of Stephanie David, R.Psych.
I work with teens, young adults, university students, and parents in Edmonton and Sherwood Park who are feeling overwhelmed beneath the surface, whether that shows up as anxiety, stress, emotional burnout, identity concerns, relationship challenges, or major life transitions.
I specialize in supporting individuals who appear to be managing on the outside while internally feeling stuck, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of themselves. Many are trying to balance school, work, relationships, family expectations, and the pressure of figuring out who they are and where they’re headed.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth while still being evidence-based and practical. Therapy with me is not about judgment or forcing change, but about creating a space where people can better understand themselves, build confidence in their voice, and develop sustainable ways of coping and functioning.
I also support parents who want to better understand and connect with their teen or young adult. Part of my work involves helping bridge communication gaps at home so families can move away from constant tension and toward more supportive, grounded relationships.
Services
Each person and family has unique needs, and my services are designed to support you in your own process.
I provide therapy for teens, young adults, and parents, along with consultation and community-based support. My work focuses on helping clients build insight, emotional regulation, and practical skills they can use in everyday life, using a blend of evidence-based therapy and real-world application.
My Approach
Mental health is more than symptoms, it’s your story, your context, and your strengths. My approach is holistic and person-centered, meaning we look at your thoughts, emotions, body, and environment together. I use evidence-based therapies in a grounded, practical way, not as quick fixes, but as tools that support real, lasting change. Above all, I aim to provide a safe, validating space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you move forward at your own pace.
